Hi there!
Welcome to Cantabrian Kitchen.
I’m Diana, a Spanish and Cuban-American chef and writer based in Santander. Although I grew up moving around between the US, Spain and the UK, I spent every summer visiting my grandparents in the beautiful city of Santander, so it’s always felt like home.
I’ve wanted to share Cantabria with people for as long as I can remember, so over the years, I’ve been building myself into the right person to bring forth this project: by working in marketing for hospitality and tourism businesses, honing my writing skills, studying wine, and becoming a chef.
In exploring Cantabrian food, traditions, and places, I’m becoming an expert on my own origin, and deepening my relationship with this special place. But I’m also looking in as an outsider, with care and respect, and heaps of enthusiasm to share what I discover along the way.
So, at its core, Cantabrian Kitchen is about curiosity, belonging and sharing. I wish I could open up my kitchen door to you and have you sit at my table. But for now, this will do 🙂
Whether you’re looking for recipes, tourism experiences, or a bit of history, I hope you find it here, and that you grow to love Cantabria as much as I do
Thanks for being here,
Diana
